Are you worthy of rest in postpartum?
NO, you’re not lazy. You have just grown and birthed a baby for 40+ weeks and god knows how many hours.
YES, it’s productive. Deep, intentional rest supports a Mother in her physical and mental recovery.
Rest should be the cornerstone of any solid postpartum plan.
So, how much do you need? (hint: a lot)
How are you going to get it?
Is there anything that might get in the way of you getting the rest you need?
In order to truly be able to rest, a Mother needs to be fully supported in her postpartum so that her rest is not compromised.
Some things to consider…
Who will be taking care of the domestic chores?
Who will be caring for any older children?
Will you be having visitors? And if so, who will be ensuring that no-one overstays their welcome?
And probably the biggest one…
Do YOU believe that you are deserving of proper rest at this time?
If you don’t, it’s probably worth starting to unpack your beliefs around rest and your worthiness to fully receive it.
